This picturesque community set in a beautiful Alpine valley has been a ski and spa resort since 1961. The lake Lake Zell provides the town with a natural reservoir and offers a range of activities including ice and water sports, where as the Schmittenhöhe mountain offers a variety of winter and summer activities making Zell Am See a long-established year-round resort.
The bustling town centre has a charming pedestrianised ‘old-town’ with a large collection of shops, restaurants, bars and hotels. The Schmittenhöhe mountain reaches 1965m and integrates Zell am See into an ample network of cross-country ski runs and hiking trails, providing 77 kilometres of ski pistes within a stone's throw from the apartment.
From December until mid-April, the mountain is the destination of boarders, carvers, and free-stylers. There are some 77 kilometres of trails, a guarantee for fun in the snow. But even in the summer you can enjoy the local mountain to its fullest via hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking, or you can even view the scenery from a completely different perspective as the mountain slopes serve as a runway for hang-gliders and paragliders.

It is well-worth a visit throuogh the idyllic shopping streets of Zell am See where right in the middle of old inns and historical buildings, there are little stores which fit perfectly into the harmonious picture the town presents. This is where you have all the time in the world to assemble the perfect sports outfit or find just the right thing for the perfect souvenier of your stay in Austria.
Perfumeries, jewellers, florists, designer clothing, ski wear outlets, traditional Austrian boutiques, confectioners and tea shops patisseries adorn the streets.
